Remember that hurricane that was threatening Maine!? Well, Mackenzie and Kyle will surely never forget it! Not only was this storm threatening our state, but their wedding day too! While we were on the brink of going into a state of emergency, they both kept cool and were confident in moving forward with their destination wedding here on Sebago Lake. I too felt a sense of peace, especially because this stunning venue, now one of my favorites, is practically my neighbor in the town over!
Surrounded by swirling winds, Mackenzie and Kyle exchanged vows under their beautiful tent without a hitch ( or tree branch flying in to steal the show). And to add some humor during their ceremony, instead of flower girls, they had the groom’s hilarious brothers dance down the aisle throwing petals in every which way!
As expected, the Stone Barn gave us a variety of stunning backdrops for photos, despite the weather! And later as we sat for dinner, the couple opted for a family-style approach, which made the reception feel very intimate and personal, which I loved! And you won’t believe it – the stormy day gifted us this breathtaking sunset! Rushing to the waterfront, Mackenzie, Kyle, and I were treated to the most vibrant oranges and yellows, turning their summer wedding into a fairytale.
Adding a dash of charm, Mackenzie and Kyle brought in their fur baby, Tilly. And make sure you scroll aaaaall the way down to see how the bride ended the night in her mom’s wedding dress-turned-reception dress, dancing away in style!
I used to live right around the corner from Stone Barn, and let me tell you, it’s a gem. Owned by St. Joseph’s College, you get this Euro-vibe building for getting ready, a cool planner zipping you around in a golf cart, and the property is a goldmine for amazing spots! Rocky waterfront, birch-tree sprinkled areas, wooded paths, hydrangea havens – it’s a photographer’s dream!
It sits on an 18-acre farm, and was fully renovated in June of 2016 when it became available for stunning events! It can accommodate up to 175 guests, with plenty of space to utilize for your day. The Stone Barn has so much authentic character mixed with a modern feel, making it a truly one-of-a-kind venue here in Maine!
Nestled in the heart of Standish, Maine, this stone barn and courtyard offer a stunning backdrop for weddings from mid-May through October. As your wedding venue, Stone Barn doesn’t just provide a space; they create an entire experience. Their team steps in as your coordinator, caterer, and bar service, ensuring every detail aligns with your vision.
