Maine is home to some of the most breathtaking sceneries, making it an ideal location to capture precious moments with your family! There are so many destinations to choose from, all with their own unique landscapes that display nature’s beauty. So whether you are a local, or traveling here for a vacation, Maine is a perfect place for photos you will treasure forever!

Where to Take Maine Family Photos in the Summer

Growing up here in Maine, I’ve come to love so many locations, each with their distinctive landscapes. I’ve been able to capture love stories and sweet family moments with the most beautiful backdrops, and want to share a few of my favorites! Here are some locations to take family photos in the summertime, with the warm weather and coastal views.

Kettle Cove: Cape Elizabeth, ME

Kettle Cove is a stunning seaside spot that gives you a private and secluded feel, although it’s actually a state park. You can enjoy the picturesque views of the lobster boats in the cove and well-maintained trails that you can explore. It’s a very serene and peaceful location, where you typically won’t have to worry about having an audience.

It is the perfect spot for a beach session with a truly magnificent backdrop to capture your family photos!

Biddeford Pool: Biddeford, ME

Biddeford is a hidden gem here in Maine and one of my favorite beaches to adventure to with families! The long stretch of sandy beach gives you plenty of space to utilize, giving you a wide variety of backdrops. I love making our way down to the rocky area, where you can enjoy tide pools, and capture some truly breathtaking photos! The town area is also very quaint and quiet, and is a great place to spend time exploring before or after a session here.

Where to Take Maine Family Photos in the Fall

Want more of the cozy vibes with some fall colors and foliage in your backdrop? Here are a few of my favorite locations for the fall!

Fort Williams: Cape Elizabeth, ME

Fort Williams can still give you some of those ocean views that you may be dreaming about, but it also has much more than that! There is 90 acres worth of space to explore, with trails, bridges, open fields, and the rocky beaches as well. You’ll definitely have more of the fall colors here, with the foliage changing in September and October. So if you want the best of both worlds with fall foliage and ocean views, this is your best bet!

Randalls Apple Orchard: Standish, ME

Randall Orchards creates a setting that couldn’t be more perfect for fall photos! This family-owned farm is just 15 minutes from Portland and is filled with apple trees, as well as peach and pear trees. It’s such a fun place to bring your kids and adventure among the trees. It couldn’t get more dreamy than this for a fall session!

Romac Apple Orchard: Acton, ME

Romac Orchards is another family-friendly location that gives you a picturesque, fall backdrop, as well as scenic views. It’s a beautiful place to adventure with your family in Southern Maine, with plenty of space to capture photos you can treasure forever. Enjoy some of the activities on the property as well, like apple-picking, corn maze and free hayrides!
