Want the look and feel of a destination wedding without having to travel halfway around the globe? Want some European pizzazz to your decor but unsure if Italian, Spanish, or Greek offer the aesthetic you envision? I’ve seen a growing trend lately of European-themed weddings and I LOVE it! You get the mediterranean, earthy, and elegant charm without committing to a specific cultural aesthetic. It’s the best of both worlds!
Let’s break down how this couple absolutely nailed the European-themed wedding.
This was an incredibly unique element to their wedding, and their guests loved it! The couple thoughtfully selected olive oil from Spain, then bottled and sealed it by hand. Talk about intentionality! It was memorable and made a great addition to their tablescape.
Guests were greeted by these sweet little olive trees as they first walked through the doors. They were sprinkled throughout the venue and truly made you feel like you were in Europe! I love it when scenery like this transports you to another world. I’m booking my trip to Europe ASAP after this wedding!
I meaaaaan, food very well may be one of the most important pieces of making this European themed wedding day all come together!! Am I right!? Having hor d’oeuvres such as charcuterie cones and burrata caprese is one thing. But to bring it home with a wide variety of European tapas…now we’re talking! It was beautiful, delicious, and a great touch to a perfectly curated theme.
Just look at how stunning! Adding this greenery really was such a delicate and memorable touch, especially when pairing it with the bistro lighting. To me, this screamed Italian elegance! The whimsical design made for breathtaking photos that truly looked like we were in Italy.
Europe is known for its stunning historic architecture, like stone castles, cobblestone walkways, and old brick buildings. If you can find a venue that can provide any of these options, then you have a strong base to work from. As seen above, the golden bistro lights and greenery against the stone and brick walls provide a classic and warm European touch that is unmistakable.
There are many other ways to infuse a European theme into your wedding day, but I hope these five ideas will give you the inspiration you need to create the European wedding of your dreams!
