Capturing Matt & Ella’s engagement photos at Biddeford Pool Bird Sanctuary was absolutely magical, and it even ended with the most stunning rainbow!

Matt and Ella’s engagement session felt like it was straight out of a movie! I’ve known these two since college and think they’re the sweetest thing. Ella is super artistic and Matt loves to surf, and I feel like this location fit both of their personalities so well. They are currently living in California and just living out their dreams! But their wedding will be here in Bar Harbor, Maine and I absolutely can’t wait.

This bird sanctuary was actually where Matt proposed to Ella, making it an even more special spot for the two of them. There was a secret cove through some trees that you’ll see pictured, which is actually the exact spot he got down on one knee! It was so special to relive this with them, and capture photos here that they can treasure forever.

The session couldn’t have ended more perfectly – with the most breathtaking rainbow! It was incredible and we were so excited to include it in the backdrop of some of their photos!

East Point Sanctuary

East Point Audobon Sanctuary is situated at the very end of Biddeford Pool, among a private golf course and private residences. It has the most beautiful trail that travels along the perimeter of the point, and gives rare access to this area of the Maine coast.

It covers 27 acres, and is best known for being the top birding location in southern Maine, where you can see over 260 different species. But it’s also just a truly gorgeous spot to explore! The short trail gives you views of the Wood Island Lighthouse, the rocky shore, and the most beautiful coastal views. It’s an easy walk, and the backdrops here couldn’t get more breathtaking!
