2 Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, Maine couldn’t be more ideal for engagement photos with the rugged coastline and panoramic ocean views.

2 Lights State Park in Maine is such a dreamy spot for engagement photos, with the rocky coastlines and classic New England ocean views. You can wander around the cliffs and onto the rocks for your session, giving your gallery plenty of variety. It’s extra gorgeous at golden hour, and the salty breeze always adds a fun touch to the photos!

2 Lights State Park is a stunning park with the most flawless views that covers 41 acres of rocky headlands. Because it’s high up on the coast, you have incredible views of the Atlantic and Casco Bay, making it a stunning backdrop for photos! You can walk along the path with the sea breeze, and see all the boats coming into the Harbor.
Adventuring out onto the rocks is a perfect spot for portraits, and adds so much to your gallery. The rugged coast here is so stunning, but keep in mind, although the name of the park is 2 Lights, there are not any actual lighthouses. But the natural beauty here makes up for it!

The different seasons here in Maine all have their own unique charm and beauty, but can definitely determine the overall vibe of your photos. Here’s what each season looks like in Maine to help you plan out your session!
Late April to early June is a sweet spot. Everything’s starting to bloom, the trees are getting their fresh green leaves, and there’s a soft, romantic feel to the light. You’ll probably catch some lilacs or wildflowers, especially in gardens or open fields. 2 Lights State Park really comes alive this time of year!
From June to August, you get longer days and everything is lush and alive. It’s perfect for beach sessions to dip your toes in the water, and just exploring the area. Just plan around the heat and maybe some bugs; consider planning an early morning or golden hour shoots for that dreamy lighting and cooler temps.
September through mid-October is a pretty magical time of year. Maine’s foliage is breathtaking with the bright reds, oranges, and golds everywhere. It’s a super popular time, so some spots can get a little busy, but if you time it right (weekdays or early in the day), you can get those iconic, cozy autumn backdrops without a crowd. Fort Foster is extra romantic this time of year!
If you want a cozy, romantic vibe, late December through February can be stunning. The snow-covered trees and being bundled up in warm sweaters creates a pretty magical combination. The soft winter light can actually be really flattering, but just prepare and bundle up!
